According to Jens Nijs, the auctions of Dutch Horse Trading will be the new future. Due to the transparency, the DHT group will be able to serve the customers better and find them a suitable horse. “We don't want to sell just a horse, but a long-term project that makes the customer happy makes them come back,” says Jens.

Jens runs his dealing stable, Equine Finesse BVBA, in Arendonk, Belgium. In addition, together with his father, he owns a large breeding operation of showjumping horses, Stud de Nyze. Several top jumpers from Stud de Nyze have already made their mark at international level, like Crack de Nyze Z, who jumps as Landon (Comilfo Plus Z x Quadrillo) at the highest level with Kent Farrington.

The horses Jens enters in the DHT auction will mainly be young and promising ridden show jumpers between 5 and 7 years old and an occasional schoolmaster or amateur horse at 1.20 m or 1.30 m level. "I like to see a cooperative horse, regardless of the level. We all like to see a good and a beautiful horse, but if a great talent does not want to cooperate, it is of no use, no matter the level, whether it's an amateur horse or a top horse. For the sport's higher level, we need a modern horse with quick reflexes to get through the more difficult tests. However, at that level, the mentality of a horse is also the most important."

Many good horses have already left Jens' stables. C Hunter (Cassini II x Corland) jumps at 1.60 m level with Lucas Porter, Calvino de Nyze Z (Calvaro Z x Heartbreaker) did this under Frank Schuttert and Pieter Clemens, and Faldiano (Heartbreaker x Jus de Pomme) jumps at three star level under Jens Vandenberk.
