In the equestrian world, Walter Lelie is known as a fantastic trainer of talented showjumping horses and as a sincere horse dealer who always tries to find a suitable horse for his clients. Because that is what it is all about, according to Walter: "When selling horses, it is very important that the right horse ends up with the right customer. Customers have to know the character of the horse and be aware of their own character. Only then can you help create a good combination. In equestrian sport, the right match is the key to success. It's not only the quality of horse and rider, but mainly the growing energy and synergy between a combination that ultimately makes the difference, at any level," explains Walter. "That's also the difference between a horse dealer who just likes to sell horses and someone who really sees it as his or her profession and gets real satisfaction from matching the right horse and rider."

Walter also appreciates this intention in Niels Fabrie, the founder and initiator of Dutch Horse Trading. "I really like Niels' way of thinking. It's the strength of the collaboration between professionals. Niels does that well with Dutch Horse Trading," says Walter. "He tries to get the best out of everyone, which ultimately works out positively for the customer. I am happy to contribute to that. In addition, the world has changed. A modern evolution has taken place in recent years. Trade goes mainly via the internet."

Walter has already sold many good horses in his rich career. Killer Queen with Daniel Deusser, Go Easy de Muze with Frank Schuttert and Darragh Kenny, Eldorado van de Zeshoek with Willem Greve and H5 Just de Music with Carlos Hank Guerreiro have all jumped at top level or still do. "It's satisfying when people buy a horse from you and are happy with it."

Walter hopes to do the same in the Dutch Horse Trading auctions. "I stand behind the horses I enter. That can be talented youngsters or a good amateur horse. I like an intelligent horse. What makes my heart as an sports man beat faster is a top young horse. But I can also appreciate, admire, and be amazed by a good amateur horse that always try their best in an honest, careful and balanced way."
